Recife, Pernambuco

Our Brazil trip was so much fun, we had a great time and did many things that I didn't think we would be able to having a toddler with us... We had a total of 9 flights and Tyler thankfully slept through EVERY SINGLE ONE of them. He was cranky  during one of the flights but passed out shortly after that and I was so glad for that!  What an adventure!! Some people thought we were very brave for bringing him but we don't have another option if we are going to go 5,900 miles to our first destination he had to come along too!!

Our first stop was Recife, Pernambuco.. Calm beaches, friendly people, some strange and some delicious food. We definitely liked Recife more than Rio de Janeiro. Way better choice for families with kids. We did a lot of walking, we were busy bees over there...

This is how it looked like when we woke up every morning... then the ocean would go back and the reefs could be seen and natural pools were left for the kids to play... The deepest part was maybe knee high..

The view from our room.. around lunch time..

Tyler just loved chasing the birds around, everyone thought he was the cutest baby chasing the birds...

Our Hotel.. The Golden Tulip... It was such a clean hotel, friendly staff...

The breakfast was amazing. I ate so much I'm surprised that I didn't gain  weight!!

There were some cute churches everywhere we went. This one was close to our hotel at a little "fair" that they had every night where we ate several  coxinhas and pastel de carne .. They had all kids of foods but we mainly ate these 2.

The best part of going to the beach in Brazil is that the vendors really cater to you. This was across the street from our hotel. You pick where you want to sit and if you need a drink, something to eat, ice cream, whatever it is they bring to you right where you are sitting.

At the Recife mall they had a play area for kids, you pay a fee and you can leave your child there while you go shopping. Tyler was missing his toys and playing with other kids so we thought it was a good idea to let him play.. He had a great time.
Pingo Feliz..

We were very lucky that during the 6 days we were in Recife it rained only one of the days, we were able to go to the beach everyday.

Tyler loved coconut water...

I had no idea that Johnny knew as much Portuguese as he did.. He picked up fast and was just talking to anyone having long conversations, with barely any help from me.

The beach was so clean, the water was perfect. It was a good time to go to Recife. Even though its not summer there yet..
