Baby food

Since Tyler has been eating all kinds of Gerber foods it can get a little pricie as he is eating 2-3 containers a day.. I went on Pinterest  and some other websites and found some recipes and to my surprise it was really easy to make.. I made peaches, pears, plums, sweet potatoes, carrots, squash and added some apple sauce that grandpa Vandruff made with no sugar all natural!!! .. He likes everything except the squash..

Just boil them for a few minutes that way the skin is easy to remove and the inside is cooked... I steamed the carrots and potatoes since they can take longer to cook
Place the peaches on ice ...

Same process with the pears...

I used my magic bullet and within seconds the food was all puréed up

Sweet potatoes and golden potatoes I boiled them for longer but I have also baked/steamed them and it worked out the same..

So I placed them in the muffin pan which is the exact same amount of food as the #2 Gerber foods...

Placed them in the freezer and a couple hrs later this is what we had!!!  I take them out the night before to defrost and it's ready in the am for Tyler.. So far it has worked out great Tyler loves it and our wallets do too :))

Here is the link to where I got my recipes from click here

  1. Such a good idea! The only thing I every made was butternut squash (Well, my dad made it) and it was awesome. Lyla loved it. I feel like a lot of the baby food has a funky taste so making yourself is such a good idea.

    1. So far he has liked every fruit that I have made especially mangos and peaches.. But for the vegetables I have to add apple sauce or sweet potatoes for him to really like it.. Maybe because it makes it sweeter.. Who knows .. But it has for sure saved us money so far :))
